This tape is ideal for use anywhere you would normally employ caulking, but can also be installed on top of existing caulking for an extra barrier layer. When I bought my house, it was remodeled from the studs and they skipped a couple of steps. I used this for the underside of my kitchen bar. This product saved me from having to buy tools and I feel like it's helping with air leakage in my home. At close inspection it would look cheap so I don't know if i would recommend for an area that is more visible, but exactly what I needed for my needs and it is very aesthetically pleasing. This is a cheap fix and it worked. I just put it on today so I don't know how the stickiness is going to hold up.Update: I used liquid nails to help because the stickiness was not enough. I still do not regret my purchase. The good outweighs the bad.
